The British Governments in Nth America Laid Down Agreeable to the Proclamation of Octr. 7, 1763

The October 1763 issue of the Gentleman’s Magazine, a popular monthly magazine published in London and reaching a mass audience, published this simplified version of the border line proposed in the Proclamation of 1763. Mapmaker John Gibson added bold text on the western side of the proclamation line labeling that territory as “Lands Reserved for the Indians.”
