Alexander Stephens
Alexander Stephens of Georgia was the vice president of the Confederacy during the American Civil War (1861–1865). Stephens was also a member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1843–1859; 1873–1882) and governor of Georgia for a year prior to his death in 1883.
