West Point, From Above Washington Valley Looking down the River

The buildings of West Point are visible atop the hills overlooking the Hudson River in this scene created by George Cooke, a prolific American portraitist and landscape artist. Cooke painted the image in 1832, and the English-born engraver William James Bennett based this 1834 aquatint on the painting.
