Virginia Intertribal Powwow

Members of the Chickahominy, Pamunkey, Rappahannock, and Mattaponi tribes pose for an unknown photographer at an intertribal powwow at the Chickahominy reservation in New Kent County. Beginning in 1921, these four tribes banded together to form a revived Powhatan Confederacy, to increase the political strength and visibility of Virginia Indians.
