Early Settlements along the James River

This map shows the early settlements along the James River, including Bermuda Hundred, located at the confluence of the Appomattox and James rivers. Founded in 1613 by Sir Thomas Dale, Bermuda Hundred was the first incorporated town in the colony of Virginia. This map was published in Thomas J. Wertenbaker's Virginia Under the Stuarts (1914).
