Richard McIlwaine

Richard McIlwaine, who served as a chaplain for the 44th Virginia Infantry Regiment during the Civil War, and later became president of Hampden-Sydney College, is the subject of this portrait used as the frontispiece of his book Memories of Three Score Years and Ten (1908).
