Protesters gather in opposition to the opening of the North Anna Nuclear Generating Station. In the last third of the twentieth century, Virginia citizens organized to draw attention to a variety of environmental concerns, including preservation of the Chesapeake Bay and conservation of the Appalachian mining region.
