Railroad Survey Map for Pulaski County

An 1849 map drawn by engineer W. W. Blackford shows proposed routes in Pulaski County for the newly chartered Virginia and Tennessee Railroad. The railroad, which extended from Lynchburg through southwestern Virginia into Tennessee, played an important role in supplying Confederate troops during the Civil War.
