Vanda Marteal Oglesby Link Taylor

This funeral card uses an image of Vanda Marteal Oglesby Link taken by O. Winston Link. She modeled for Link in 1940, while he was working on a photography assignment in Shreveport, Louisiana. The image depicts Oglesby sitting outside in a dress, next to a Louisiana Highway 103 sign. She is laughing while eating a huge quarter of watermelon with a spoon. The photograph depicts a stylized version of the south. Link and Oglesby married in 1942; however, their partnership was brief. The couple had divorced before 1950.
