Union Station in Charlottesville

An image taken in 1919 by local Charlottesville photographer Rufus W. Holsinger shows a view of Union Station railroad station from across the street. In the late 1880s Burkley Bullock, a successful Black entrepreneur, was the proprietor of a restaurant in the station that was frequented by students from nearby University of Virginia.
