O. Winston Link took this photograph of a freight train crossing a bridge at night, over a road in Rileyville. White smoke billows from the train smokestack, and Link parked his car so that it would look as though it is approaching from underneath the bridge. There is a sign advertising Luray Caverns near one of the trestles. Link took this photograph in March of 1956 as a test of a new power supply method. The supply would help to synchronize the flashbulbs and shutters necessary to take a night photograph such as this, with the steam exhaust emphasized against the night sky.
