The Indian World

Helen C. Rountree and Camilla Townsend, experts on early Virginia Indian society, vividly describe the Indian world that English settlers first encountered in the Chesapeake Bay region. Rountree is a professor emerita of anthropology at Old Dominion University and Townsend is a professor of history at Rutgers University.
