Sir Charles Hardy

This print of Sir Charles Hardy was compiled for Mary Louise Booth’s 1867 The History of the City of New York. It shows Hardy in full naval gear, leaning on a cannon and standing in front of a warship. Hardy served as governor of New York from 1755 to 1757 and served as a rear-admiral during the Seven Years War before returning to England in November 1757.
