Pocahontas Saving John Smith

Helen C. Rountree and Camilla Townsend, experts on early Virginia Indian society, dispel the popular myth of Pocahontas having intervened to prevent the killing of English settler John Smith. Rountree is a professor emerita of anthropology at Old Dominion University and Townsend is a professor of history at Rutgers University.
