McCormick Factory Complex in Chicago

Sailing ships and a steam-powered vessel float past the McCormick brothers' manufacturing complex along the Chicago River in this 1860 engraving. Cyrus and Leander McCormick relocated the family's reaping and mowing machinery business from Virginia to Chicago in 1848 and expanded factory operations there. This print was published in a twenty-four page advertising brochure for the company in 1860.
