Judgment in the case of Robin, et al v. Hardaway

The judgement in the case of Robin et al v. Hardaway (1772) ruled that the descendants of a certain Indigenous woman who had been sold into slavery between 1682 and 1748 were, in fact, free, as their ancestor had been sold into slavery illegally. Their enslaver was charged with trespass, assault and battery, and imprisonment, however he only had to pay one shilling in damages (besides court costs.)
