John Brown’s Raid in American Memory
The Virginia Historical Society presents a seven-minute video, John Brown's Raid in American Memory, in conjunction with its exhibit of the same name mounted to commemorate the event's sesquicentennial. The video surveys a wide range of reactions to Brown and poses questions concerning liberation, justice, vigilantism, and terrorism. This production was made possible by a grant from the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and The E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation.
