Jason Miyares

Jason Miyares, the first Hispanic American to be elected to a statewide office in Virginia, worked as a prosecutor in the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney office before being elected to a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates in 2015. In 2021 he became the 48th Attorney General of Virginia. Miyares’ mother, Miram Miyares, immigrated to Virginia from Cuba in 1987.
