Interview with Rita Dove

In 2004, Virginia poet Rita Dove participated in the Furious Flower Poetry Conference at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, an event whose goal was to "re-generate the Black poetic tradition." Shortly thereafter, she stopped by With Good Reason to read from her most recent poetry collection, American Smooth. She is interviewed here by Sarah McConnell of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.
