Interview with David Berman

Jesse Dukes spoke to David Berman in the spring of 2006, during the Silver Jews' first ever major concert tour. Berman had up to that point avoided touring, preferring only to release recorded albums. He had recently recovered from drug addiction and survived a suicide attempt, and had emerged from both experiences with a tremendous amount of debt. Taking the Silver Jews on tour was the only way he knew of to start repaying the debt and put his family's life on a stable course.
