“I’m a Fool”””

Sherwood Anderson's short story "I'm a Fool," as performed by the Mercury Summer Theatre on CBS Radio in 1946. The Mercury Theatre was famous for, among other things, its host, Orson Welles. The music here is provided by another famous radio and film artist, Bernard Herrmann, who also did much of composition for the films of Albert Hitchcock. "I'm a Fool," one of Anderson's most famous stories, was also made into several television telecasts, including a 1954 version with James Dean and a 1977 version with Ron Howard.
