House of Burgesses Chamber

This photograph shows the House of Burgesses chamber at the reconstructed Capitol building in Williamsburg, as interpreted by the curators at Colonial Williamsburg in 2022. This was where the lower branch of colonial Virginia’s General Assembly met, as the room would have looked from 1705 to 1747.
