Reenactor of Dunmore’s Ethiopian Regiment

This reenactor with the Youth Virginia Regiment, a living history reenactment group, portrays a self-emancipated member of John Murray, fourth earl of Dunmore's Ethiopian Regiment. A contemporary account of Dunmore’s troops reported them appearing “with this inscription on their breasts - ‘liberty to Slaves,’” which has been recreated here.
