Henrytown

This 1950s photograph shows Henrytown in Saltville, near where folk singer Texas Gladden grew up. White colonists moved to the area in the 1780s to work in a salt manufacturing facility, and in the early twentieth century Saltville became a company town for the salt and plaster industry in Virginia.
