Green v. County School Board of New Kent County Historical Marker

A marker erected in 2005 by the Department of Historic Resources commemorates the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Green v. County School Board of New Kent County (1968), which ordered public schools to abolish dual systems of education for black and white students. The marker is located in front of George W. Watkins Elementary School, which, at the time of the court case, was an all-black school in Quinton, New Kent County.
