General William Henry Harrison, Candidate of the People for President of the United States.
The book cover of Isaac Rand Jackson's General William Henry Harrison, Candidate of the People for President of the United States (1840) depicts Harrison as a war hero—wearing boots and spurs and full military uniform while standing next to his horse. Jackson was a personal friend of Harrison's and promoted his presidential candidacy. Harrison won the election but died a month after taking office. Jackson was rewarded for his loyalty by being appointed U.S. Chargé d'Affaires to Denmark.
