VIRGINIA CITIZEN.
To the Virginia Citizen, a new Republican weekly, published at Petersburg, we send greeting. There is room and need for it in that immediate vicinity. The Republican party in that section cast down by reason of unparalleled villainy under color of law needs new vigor, energy and its prestine prestige.
We look to the Citizen, to give it not only to that section but to assist The Advocate in marshalling the Republican forces of the State for victory all along the line!
THE PEOPLE’S ADVOCATE.
The first number of what promises to be a most creditable Journal has come to us. In the person of its edition J. W. Cromwell, The People’s Advocate, will have brains; in that of its general agent, Rozier D. Beckley, it will have push; and may not hope that its publisher, (whom we have not the fortune to know personally) T. B. Pinn, will prove himself a man of solid business tact.
Somehow we feel inclined to advise subscription to the paper; for in the same mood, we are somehow impressed that it will live and do good service in the common cause. Success we say to the Peoples Advocate, Subscription $1.50 per annum. Address T. B. Pinn, Box 52, Alexandria, Va.–Christian Recorder.
