THIS is to inform the citizens of Richmond and the public generally, that I have recently bought of Bacon Tait his Negro establishment, which consists of a spacious comfortable strong jail, and which is convenient and suitable for the reception of slaves, as it is within a few yards of the Bell Tavern, where the sales of slaves are generally made.
This establishment will be kept open for the accomodation of the public generally; and gentlemen wishing to deposit negroes in jail, for sale or otherwise, is respectfully requested to give me a call. Every attention that may be necessary will be rendered, to have them carefully and well attended to; and I will at all times pay a fair market price for slaves, and can at any time be seen, either at the said place, or my old stand on Shockoe Hill, which will be kept up as formerly. I shall constantly keep on hand, for sale, a great many slaves; and gentlemen from the Southern States, or elsewhere, will do well to call on me, as I shall be able at any time to furnish them with a suitable lot, as I generally have on hand the use of one hundred, and will at all times sell at a small advance on cost, in lots, to suit purchasers; and gentlemen in the Southern States, or elsewhere, wishing to communicate with me, either in buying or selling, will please forward their wishes to me, and all letters, post paid, will be duly and promptly attended to.
