Eighteenth-Century Print of Nathaniel Bacon
This portrait of Nathaniel Bacon was made by printmaker Thomas Chambars in the mid eighteenth-century. It shows a seated man dressed in a seventeenth-century style with long black hair, a mustache and goatee, and a large, stiff, lace collar. He is holding up a piece of paper with his feathered hat at his side. No portraits of Nathaniel Bacon survive, so this print was based on conjecture.
