Virginia lawyer and statesman Edmund Randolph is the subject of this portrait, a nineteenth-century copy of an original by an unknown artist. Edmund Randolph presented James Madison’s Virginia Plan to the Constitutional Convention on May 29, 1787. This portrait now hangs in the Virginia State Capitol.
