Bald Cypress Trees in Lake Drummond, Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge

This modern photograph shows bald cypress trees, a species well-adapted to wet conditions, growing in Lake Drummond, a freshwater lake in the center of the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia. Lake Drummond is one of only two natural lakes in the commonwealth.
