John Custis (1678—1749) marries Frances Parke, the elder legitimate daughter and heiress of Daniel Parke (d. 1710), a former member of the governor’s Council then serving as governor of the Leeward Islands. Parke places the management of his Virginia properties in Custis’s hands.
