Burkeville Train Station

A group of men, two holding bikes and another clutching a child's hand, stand next to the tracks at the Burkeville railroad station in Nottoway County, perhaps awaiting the arrival of a train. (A dog, at lower left, also stands next to the track.) Two railroad workers, one white and one Black, sit atop carts piled high with boxes or trunks. A sign on the wall of the station notes that Richmond is 53 4/10 miles away, and Charlotte, North Carolina, is 228 6/10 miles distant.
