Battle of Point Pleasant by Joseph A. Faris

Union veteran and amateur artist Joseph Anderson Faris painted this depiction of the Battle of Point Pleasant in 1902. A longtime resident of Wheeling, West Virginia, he had an interest in local history. Although born well after the Battle of Point Pleasant took place, Faris was familiar with Point Pleasant geography and painted the scene with an eye for the battle terrain.
