Aerial View of James Monroe’s Highland

This aerial photograph taken by Gene Runion shows the expanded guesthouse at James Monroe's Highland that anchors the portion of the house built in 1873 by John Massey. A boxwood-lined colonial revival garden sits atop the footprint of Monroe's house, which burnt to the ground around 1830.
