Virginia Resolves on the Stamp Act

Five resolutions by Patrick Henry, written in response to the Stamp Act and presented by him to the House of Burgesses on May 29–30, 1765, attack Parliament's claim of authority to tax America. In the final, most controversial resolution Henry wrote that the General Assembly has the exclusive power to tax Virginians.
