Lest We Forget

Downtown Redevelopment: The Birth of a Metropolitan Heart (1960), a publication produced by the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, includes photographs of Norfolk street scenes before the implementation of a massive urban-renewal project. The Redevelopment and Housing Authority used these images to promote its work of demolishing neighborhoods and replacing them with public housing.
