Gardner L. Boothe

Gardner L. Boothe, a Democratic Party leader and the president of the First National Bank in Alexandria, is the subject of this photographic portrait. The image is from a publication issued by the bank. The caption notes that in July 1909, Boothe was elected president by a unanimous vote of the board of directors to ensure the bank's continued "conservative and successful policy." Boothe served as president for forty-six years.
