Bust of Ota Benga

A bust made from a life mask of Ota Benga for the American Museum of Natural History in New York City is identified at bottom as "PYGMY." The bust was created in 1906, the year that Ota Benga, a Pygmy from the Congo, was part of an exhibition in which he was displayed for three weeks in a cage with monkeys at the Bronx Zoo.
