Portrait of Thomas Roderick Dew (1802–1846)

Thomas Roderick Dew, president of the College of William and Mary from 1836 until his death in 1846, is the subject of this portrait by William Garl Browne Jr. (The artist spelled his name "Brown" in the 1840s, but in later life he added an "e" to it.) This painting, created the year Dew died, was purchased by the president and faculty of William and Mary in 1847.
