Laburnum

Several unidentified people, including a young boy on a donkey at right, pose in front of Laburnum, the Richmond residence of newspaper publisher Joseph Bryan (1845–1908). The Gothic Revival house featured steep-pitched gables and decorative brick work. It burned down in 1906 and was replaced by a fifty-room Colonial Revival mansion with electric elevators and elaborate interior woodwork.
