Cactus Hill Archaeological Site

Bob Jolley, a member of the archaeological team that excavated the Cactus Hill site in Sussex County, points to an area in the hillside where Clovis and pre–Clovis age pottery artifacts were discovered. The Archeological Society of Virginia excavated the site from 1993 to 2002. This photograph was taken in the mid-1990s.
