Albert S. Priddy, the first superintendent of the Virginia Colony for Epileptics (later the Virginia State Colony for Epileptics and Feeble-minded), is the subject of this photographic portrait made in 1908. Priddy was a proponent of the eugenics movement and in favor of forced sterilizations of those deemed genetically unfit.
