Greeley and Brown

Bust portraits of the presidential and vice-presidential nominees chosen at the Democratic National Convention in Baltimore in 1872—Horace Greeley, left, and B. Gratz Brown, right—are at the center of this political poster.  The candidates' platform, brief biographies of each man, and Greeley's letter accepting the presidential nomination are included, as well as vignette portraits of the presidents from George Washington to Andrew Johnson. A map of the United States, the current population of each state and territory, and data on past elections are also printed on the broadside.
