Coppin State Teachers College

A colored postcard shows Coppin State Teachers College (later Coppin State University) on West North Avenue in Baltimore. The institution was founded as an African American high school in 1900. In 1938 it became an accredited teachers' college and in 1950 a state school. In 1952 it moved to the thirty-eight-acre site pictured above.
