Andrew Jackson. President of the United States.
Andrew Jackson, seventh president of the United States, sits for a portrait at the Hermitage, his estate in Tennessee. This lithograph with watercolor is based on an earlier painting made in 1833 by William James Hubard, an English-born artist then residing in Virginia. Hubard had been commissioned by Philadelphia printmaker Cephas Grier Childs to paint Jackson, and lithographs such as this one were subsequently published.
