This is the cover of the Reverend Israel LaFayette Butt's book History of African Methodism in Virginia, or Four Decades in the Old Dominion (1908). On the title page Butt is identified as "Presiding Elder of the Norfolk District, Virginia Conference" in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The book was published by Hampton Institute Press.
