Gen. Burnside’s Quick Step

"Gen. Burnside's Quick Step," published in the midst of the American Civil War (1861–1865), is a military-style instrumental march set for piano. Though sometimes lampooned as a poor general, Burnside spent his postwar years pursuing a successful political career, elected three times governor of Rhode Island and twice to the U.S. Senate.
