A Map of Lewis and Clark’s Track …

A map of the North American West, the region explored by the Lewis and Clark Expedition, includes detailed geographic and ethnographic information. William Clark, one of the commanders of the expedition, drew the map upon which this engraving was based. The map was included in History of the Expedition under the Command of Captains Lewis and Clark, to the Sources of the Missouri, thence Across the Rocky Mountains and Down the River Columbia to the Pacific Ocean (1814), the official, two-volume narrative of the expedition.
