Vue Du Port De Boston

Clipper ships and smaller boats clog Boston harbor in this nineteenth-century print. Landmark buildings visible on the shore include the domed Massachusetts State House, Park Street Church, and Faneuil Hall. French artist Ambroise-Louis Garneray, who specialized in maritime and port scenes, painted this harbor view, though it is unlikely he ever visited Boston.
